Day 10 - Swimming

Chris was always good about taking the kids to the gym once or twice on the weekends. It would give me a much needed break and give them a little exercise. Michigan winters make it so hard to stay active. Lately he had been taking them swimming which they enjoyed so much. Since he left it's been my turn for swimming duty.

You don't have to stick your big toe in to test the temperature. This pool is a nice warm therapy pool, so it's very comfortable. The gym has all of the goggles, toys, and flippers to keep everyone happy.

Luke started swimming on his own last summer. I don't have to worry about him too much. Maria, on the other hand, thinks she can swim. She will push off away from the edge, dog-paddle for a bit, and then start to sink. If I don't stay close to her we'd be seeing some Baywatch moves from the lifeguard.

Swimming ends with a tradition that Chris started. He would let the kids put their feet in the hot tub for a couple of minutes. I could have stayed in that hot tub until I was a prune. It was the best 2 minutes of my whole day!
