*drunk post alert - Dad get ready for your proof reading services...
I was so excited to wake up this morning. I woke up singing "It's the best day ever" by Sponge Bob, I was that excited. It was a "me" day...and it's been a LONG time since I've had one of those!
Once the kids were off to school, Chris and I went shopping. He took care of the baby while I tried on things. It's nice to have a personal assistant. The swimsuit section didn't make me too happy, but I did find some clothes to get me through spring without looking too frumpy.
Later in the day I got an hour long massage. I felt like jello afterward. I can't even describe how relaxing that was. And I smell good now...like pine and lotion. I should be properly moisturized for at least a week after all of the stuff she smeared on me.
Then to top it all off, Chris and I had a date. My mom babysat the baby, while the other 2 went to the gym for a kid's night out. They had fun swimming and eating pizza while Chris and I went to The Melting Pot.
The Melting Pot is one of my favorite restaurants. I like the idea of cooking my own food in a little pot for some reason. We had the cheese fondue with apples, bread, and veggies. Then came a big salad. Next was a big plate of raw meat like shrimp, tenderloin, chicken, and salmon that we cooked in a broth and dipped in yummy sauces. And last we ordered a dark chocolate fondue that came with strawberries, bananas, rice krispie treats, cheesecake, brownies, and pound cake. Ridiculous!
Top that with a bottle of wine and I'm feeling pretty darn good. I almost don't want this day to end!

You deserved every darn minute!!!! SO happy for you!!!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a near-perfect day! A dinner date with your man, great dinner and dessert topped and a bottle of wine and no kiddos to chase around. I don't blame you at all for wishing this day would continue!
